Richard Maggs –
A fully modern spud boat that skips like a dream. The plastic overthruster makes macho moves, flatwater loops, and skirt implosion prone moves like the wave McNasty stable, predictable, and easy to commit to. Tied to the boat by a bungee the overthruster is harder to lose and less awkward to manage than other designs. It also slots into purpose-made grooves in the cockpit; an often overlooked design aspect on playboats that the Exo and GuiGui Prod teams have managed to truly perfect.
The edges on this boat are a touch forgiving for me. I weigh 190ish lbs and had to edge quite hard to get enough pop for bigger moves like pan-ams and airscrews. The upside of this is that the boat is very stable and at home in the foamy pit with no fear of windowshading. It should be noted that my difficulties could also arise from me being old, out of practice and/or that often overlooked concept where playboating is actually hard. The outfitting is comfortable and adjustable while providing the user with enough rigidity that the boat responds well to weight shifts, allowing users to quickly respond to dynamic surfing conditions. The plastic center pillar also provides the boat with more rigidity and pop than traditional foam outfitting.
